TLI Solutions is Prime on EMS

TLI Solutions is the prime contractor for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),
U. S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology Program (US-VISIT), and Administration and Logistic Branch (ALB), on project called Environmental Management Support for US-VISIT, Administrative and Logistics Branch.

Federal agencies are expected to perform their missions in an environmentally responsible manner without adversely affecting efficiency, productivity, safety, or health. Environmental stewardship has evolved from a best practice to a mandate.

TLI Solutions will evaluate environmental practices, policies, and vision within
US-VISIT.

The work also involves exploration of adopting a Comprehensive Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (EOSH) program, incorporating a best practice Environmental Management System (EMS), and metrics to measure the effectiveness of sustainability and conservation practices.

A TLI Solutions' Contract Expands

TLI Solutions' Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) contract with the U.S. Army Environmental Command (USAEC) has expanded to add new MMRP work.

The expansion includes two new sites to TLI Solutions' contract to conduct Site Inspections and expands their geographic area into Texas. It also includes follow-on sampling, which enables TLI Solutions to conduct multi-incremental sampling at depth for some of their Hawaii sites.

The MMRP was established in 2001 to manage the environmental, health, and safety issues presented by unexploded ordnance (UXO), discarded military munitions (DMM), and munitions constituents (MC).

The MMRP is an element of the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP), under which the Secretary of Defense carries out environmental restoration resulting from historical activities.

TLIS Receiving PMP Certifications

TLI Solutions has been hard at work elevating their already-strong management team. The managers among their ranks are increasing with men and women certified through Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification process. A candidate must pass an exam to become certified. Some prerequisites include 7,500 hours in a position of responsibility leading and directing specific tasks and 60 months of project management experience.

PMI’s PMP certification is the preeminent professional credential for individuals associated with project management. The PMP is designed to advance the project management profession and to recognize the achievements of individuals. In 1999, PMI became the first organization in the world to have its Certification Program attain International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 recognition.

TLI Solutions’ fifth project manager just passed the exam and is certified. This upward mobility elevates TLI Solutions’ position handsomely in their environmental consulting quests of solving problems, managing liabilities, and resolving conflict through their integrated analysis of environmental, technical, scientific, and information management issues.

TLI Solutions Receives Award

TLI Solutions was awarded a Special Recognition Award along with an Environmental Award.

TLI Solutions (formerly a part of TechLaw, now a company under TLI Holdings) was a team member of the team put together by the U.S. Army Environmental Center (USAEC) to facilitate the development of a CERCLA-focused inventory process. The program enables the Army to fully comply with Congressional requirements (namely the FY02 Defense Authorization Act).

Goals were met four years ahead of schedule, and the Final Inventory Report qualified for a PA under CERCLA requirements—enabling the Army to meet its PA Goal in 2003.

Due to the swift completion of the project, millions of dollars were saved and, thus, redirected into other Army environmental programs. In turn, the Army initiated its MMRP Site Inspection program earlier than the other military branches!

The awarding jury commented, "This unusual professional work provides an inventory for remediation of unexploded ordnance at about 3,000 sites around the world. This is far more than an information technology program or a data base—it provides a decision model based on data for a large range of conditions. It defines an organized, efficient process for the decisions involving six USACE districts, and 600 facility points of contact...The results are dramatic."
